    Marshalls Volvo Poor Customer Service for a mobility car
    Morning,
    I experienced very poor customer service from Marshalls Volvo Tuesday 13th June 2023, my Motability Volvo XC40 Reg YP20MLZ was booked in for its first MOT and annual service, at Marshalls Volvo 503 Valley Nottingham NG51HZ which they did no problem with that. On booking the car in at 08:30 I informed Ruby Lee at the service desk that the MPG was down to just 28 MPG and Stop Start feature on the XC40 was not working and she duly wrote it down on the work order sheet, I also told Ruby the Start Stop feature had not been working for at least 6 months may be longer, I also told her that I had put the battery on charge 3 times in the last year and the last time being just that week.
    On coming back to collect the car I spoke to Ruby Lee again and there was no mention of any findings with regards to the low MPG or the Stop Start not working and if they had fixed it. I then took it up on myself to ask if it was fixed and she did not know. It was about then when Andrew Short the Sales Manager who was sat at the side of the service desk started to point out to me the reason why the Stop Start is not working is because I have only done 4 to 5 thousand miles in three years (and this is a Motability car that’s one of the reasons most Motability cars have low mileage because we are generally of poor health and do not travel far.)and that the 2 batteries were not being charged and that I should go and take the car for a 3 hour drive and see if that fixes it. REALLY! (what’s wrong with Volvo Mechanic doing a drop test on the batteries to see if a cell has died? Or changing the batteries) I then told him that it had been on charge just a few days earlier for 9 hours and that it was showing fully charged but still not working and he then went on to put me down by telling me I did not understand how the batteries worked and how the Stop Start worked. I completely understand what he said about the working of the Stop Start system having been a Marine Engineering Mechanic for 25 years in the Royal Navy and I know that if they had replaced the batteries, it would fix the problem, and then he got the technician in Jack Horsnall and he agreed with me that the battery was not holding charge above 80% and it was probably a dead cell, that’s why the Stop Start was not working. Hello aren’t you suppose to provide a service and fix these things instead of refusing to and telling me to drive on a long run for 3 hours. I think he was trying to spare Ruby any difficult questions and get rid of me… I felt very uncomfortable so I left.

    Wrong address on paperwork, then asked if I was on a payment schedule had to told them mobility when booked told max 2 hrs sit and wait no pick up or courtesy car offered. After two hours went to ask how much long told just being washed after another half hour told needs brake and window wiper fluid replacement asked when not done already said they only just noticed all in all very poor care
