When I arrived, there was confusion about where I should park my car. Last year, a mechanic advised me to park at the front and go to reception first, so I followed the same process this year. However, I was told that I should have parked at the back instead and this followed a bizarre interaction with the advisor. This inconsistency created unnecessary frustration. I suggest that when confirming appointments, customers should be clearly informed of the correct parking procedure to avoid confusion.
Motability Authorisation
I was also asked to call Motability myself to speed up the authorisation process. I had to call them twice, and on both occasions, the Motability team apologised and confirmed that this is not the customer’s responsibility, but rather the dealership’s. They also clarified that they cannot transfer customers to the service authorisation team. This left me feeling that I was asked to do work that should have been handled by the service team.
In future, I recommend that the dealership ensures authorisation is secured in advance of the customer’s appointment. If additional vehicle details are required, such as mileage, these can be collected from the customer when booking. This would prevent delays and avoid placing unnecessary responsibility on the customer.
