    Although booked in for both an MOT and service, it took much longer than I was told to allow. Ie, well over four hours instead of the two and a half I was told to allow. So lots of heel kicking! Plus I was advised by phone whilst the car was there, that I needed new brake pads, although I hadn’t done even 8000 miles and was told during this conversation that I could leave the car with Dales that day, until such time they could do this as they couldn’t do it that day, or rebook another date. After consideration and conferring with my husband how this could be achieved we decided that as we needed the car, I should not return home direct from Truro with him, which was our first thought, but go back to Dales pick up the car and rebook it. This was really a nuisance as we live quite some distance from Dales. On arrival and after expressing the facts, a different receptionist argued that this is not what had been said to me but it most definitely had been! Also it was suddenly found I didn’t after all this need new brake pads! I notice on the info of work etc., I “declined” a puncture repair kit. Actually, I was told the existing kit would shortly be out of date but they didn’t have one, and if they got one it would be too large to post. Was I really expected to motor all the way to Dales again, nearly an hour from my home, to pick one up? As it happened, I have one of my own plus the fact I had bought a replacement tyre which was in the boot, and had escaped their notice. The receptionist was pleased I had my own but I certainly didn’t “decline” one from Dales.
    Upsettingly when I voiced my feelings on arrival to collect the car, I was advised by the second receptionist in no uncertain manner, that the first receptionist (who had been most pleasant)had not said that I needed new pads which she most certainly had, because my husband and I had tried to come up with a satisfactory plan on how to manage a) the future journey to Dales as we both have many upcoming hospital appointments so booking dates is difficult, and b) how we would manage the next day with only one vehicle.
    I have always had respect for the way Dales have serviced the car, but this time because of the things mentioned, I can’t give a higher review.

    Walked us through our options clearly and considered our disabilities and our needs in a vehicle down to the air ram bonnet which all helps when I have arthritis

    Aston made me feel welcome and helped me choose a vehicle by listening to what I needed and providing clear options and differences between the cars. He was patient, I didn’t feel rushed when sitting in and looking at the cars during two different visits. I like that it could be discussed over email too, as I’m not keen on speaking over the phone. I will recommend Dales Renault Summercourt and Aston Porter to others.
