- Rating 1.0Dec 30, 2024My first appointment was for a service on Saturday 21st December. On arriving at the dealership on December 21st I was informed the appointment was cancelled. Reason; apparently they didn’t have the car mileage. Strange as I had reported the mileage when making the booking. I was extremely disappointed that I had made a wasted journey to learn my appointment was cancelled. After an unhelpful interaction with the customer service person at the service desk I rescheduled the appointment for Saturday 28th December. I voiced that every time I visit this dealership there is a problem and the visit is never straight forward. I was told I didn’t need to come there. I reply this is the closest to my home otherwise I wouldn’t! When I arrived home I telephoned VW Bromley to make a complaint and asked for a manager to call me back - I never received a call!!
On 28th December I arrived at VW Group 1 Bromley approached the service desk to check in my vehicle, gave my car registration number and confirmed my name I was told that my service was cancelled again!!! When I asked why I was told he didn’t know but it is fine they could still book in my vehicle as they are not busy. I explained my annoyance that this happened last weekend. The car was accepted. I left and received a call 2 hours later to say they would need to book my car back in for another day because I needed a rear back tire and new front and back window wipers and top up fluid. He said he would need authorisation from Motability to proceed with the extra work. I explained that I shouldn’t need any tires. I recently had my tires replaced with Kwik Fit. He interjected that I have a slow puncture on my rear passenger side tire. I said I’ve not noticed and I’m really surprised by his news. As far as I am concerned I’ve not noticed any issues with my window wipers or my tires which were recently checked and replaced. I wasn’t sure about the fluid - that could need a top up. I was told to collect the car no later than 12pm. When I picked up my car he didn’t mention any of the extra works and I’ve not had a follow up call since. To be honest I’m not sure if the extra jobs he mentioned are genuine or a ploy to rip off motability. My tires look fine. Wipers are clearing the rain. Overall I’m not impressed with VW Group 1. I hate dealing with them. Their customer service is lacking, their communication is awful, no accountability for their lack lustre service.
