Stoneacre Kia Durham Team - Rating 1.0Nov 27, 2025On Friday 17th October 2025 after Test Driving A Kia Sportage, at Stoneacre Durham we sat down with “Katie” Stoneacre’s Motability Specialist, and decided that the Kia Sportage was the right car for me, and proceeded with the “paperwork” Katie then told my Husband and I about a “special offer for Motability customers” that would “Guarantee” a good cash back amount when the car is returned, it was “Diamond Bright” treatment and mats and boot liner, for the “Special Price “ of £200 I thought this would be a good idea and agreed.
On Tuesday 25th October 2025 my husband and I arrived at Stoneacre Durham, at our arranged time to find Katie busy with another customer, after waiting around for a while, another member of staff came and offered to check the car, and complete the paperwork, he came back to me and requested the Deposit of £199 which I paid, he went away for a while, and came back and informed me that it’s all done, and he would bring the car to the front. Katie then came to me and said “ I need another £399 off you” I replied “I have all ready paid the £199 deposit and there is £200 left to pay for the, diamond bright and mats and boot liner” Katie became quite aggressive and told me that I agreed to pay £399 and she had it in “black and white “ and with quite a raised voice repeatedly said “I’m not arguing” my husband and I told Katie what she offered and reminded her that it was £200 , Katie produced a piece of paper, with a hand written note on the bottom showing the amount to pay on collection of the vehicle was £399, (£199 deposit, £200 diamond bright and mats)
Katie said No it’s £399 plus the £199 deposit, my husband and I said we would never have agreed to that , Katie repeatedly aggressively said “I’m not arguing but that’s what you agreed” my husband said to Katie “we have either been misled or worse, and we would not accept the car and we would go elsewhere” I was quite upset and in tears because, I felt that I was being treated badly by Katie and she was calling me dishonest, Katie then said “we will just leave it” the other member of staff Handed me the keys and that was it, I had to use the remote to find my car, then try to work out where everything was, it took me a while just to find the parking brake.
I asked about the “PIN” that I should give them, when I was happy to accept the vehicle, they told me that they didn’t need it as it’s all done. - Rating 5.0Nov 26, 2025Very efficient, sent me video of tyres and brake pads.
